Classes are run by Janine Nelson. Janine makes mosaics and has a business called Smashing Chintz which has been based at Lewisham Arthouse since 1997.  She began specialising in using broken china plates to mosaic after inheriting a mosaic pot made by her great grandmother. Janine has also run mosaic workshops at the Barbican Centre and The Make Lounge.

Tools, equipment and basic materials are available to use during the evening. Collect personal items to include in the mosaics, for example broken china, pebbles, shells, trinkets, buttons, beads. Objects can be recycled and reused in mosaic – items made from glass, metal, ceramic and plastic can be used and do not have to be completely flat e.g. cutlery, broken mugs….
